Nancy Lieberman Foundation Programs

Basketball Camps and Clinics

Nancy Lieberman’s basketball camps/clinics are provided, free of charge, to qualified young girls and boys of all ethnicities between the ages of 5-17. Lieberman leads each session, including demonstrations of basketball skills and drills, while stressing the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and goal-setting. At these camps, basketball is used as a tool to teach students valuable lessons such as staying in school, leading a healthy lifestyle, saying “no” to drugs and alcohol, making positive decisions to achieve goals and building confidence and self-esteem. Lieberman stresses self-improvement, health and fitness, working together and a winning attitude. These fundamental teachings are a significant focus at each camp session.

Dream Courts

The Nancy Lieberman Foundation has teamed up with WorldVentures charitable arm, Manifest Foundation, and SportCourt to build a basketball court in multiple cities across the country. Through this initiative, Lieberman aims to make basketball more accessible to kids, as well as to provide a safe environment for kids to play. These Dream Courts provide youth with an inexpensive recreational alternative, while cultivating a new generation of hoop stars. The first Dream Court was built in 2010 in Frisco, Texas, and the second Dream Court was unveiled in 2011 at the Boys and Girls Club in Austin, Texas.

Laptops for Aspiring Leaders

The Nancy Lieberman Foundation created the free laptops for aspiring leaders program, to allow students who are in financial need, an opportunity to compete in the classroom. The Nancy Lieberman Foundation is committed to providing five laptops/tablets to each of the six high schools in Frisco ISD. In exchange these students will perform 50 hours of volunteer work.

Backpack Program (Each One, Teach One Mentorship Program)

The Nancy Lieberman Foundation is committed to providing 600 backpacks to high school students in Frisco Independent School Districts. One hundred backpacks with school supplies will be provided to each high school. This program aims to positively impact academic participation and school attendance.

Reading Corner

Recognizing that illiteracy continues to grow at an alarming rate, the Nancy Lieberman Foundation aims to create a Reading Corner in public schools and libraries throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Reading Corner encourages students to develop the valuable habit of reading. The Foundation has a goal to provide 5000 books to area schools in order to encourage students to read more.

The Nancy Lieberman Scholarship Program

Each spring, the Nancy Lieberman Scholarship is awarded to a Frisco ISD high school student athlete who has excelled in academics, on the sports field, and made a positive impact in the community. The college scholarship is in the amount of $2,500 and is based on their essay and application form. To be eligible, the recipient must participate in Junior Varsity or Varsity athletics in the Frisco ISD at least one year prior to applying for the scholarship.
